Sciton Moxi™ Laser Resurfacing in Nottingham: The Ultimate "Prejuvenation"
Is your current skincare routine no longer delivering the clinical results you need? Sciton Moxi™ is the industry’s leading gentle, non-ablative fractionated laser, designed specifically for skin "prejuvenation"—the practice of correcting early signs of damage before they become permanent.
Available at our doctor-led Mapperley clinic, Moxi is a revolutionary laser treatment that transforms skin texture and tone without the lengthy recovery time associated with traditional ablative lasers. Whether you are addressing early sun damage, fighting persistent Melasma, or simply maintaining a luminous, youthful glow, Moxi provides a sophisticated, targeted solution.
-
Precision Dermal Repair: Unlike older laser systems that strip the entire skin surface, Moxi uses a fractionated laser wavelength to create precise micro-channels of coagulation. This leaves the surrounding skin barrier intact, stimulating your body’s natural dermal repair mechanism to replace damaged cells with fresh, healthy tissue.
-
Correction of Pigmentation & Melasma: Moxi is highly effective at fading sun spots, age spots, and complex patches of Melasma, making it one of the few lasers considered safe for treating pigment on all Fitzpatrick skin types (I-VI).
Refinement of Tone & Texture: By accelerating cellular turnover, Moxi visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores, resulting in a smoother, more refined skin surface.
"Prejuvenation" & Maintenance: Perfect for year-round skin health, Moxi addresses early concerns before they deepen, ensuring your skin remains vibrant and resilient regardless of your age.
Comfortable, High-Speed Treatment: Our treatments are fast, fully customisable, and designed to fit into even the busiest schedules with minimal social downtime.
-
One of Moxi’s most powerful advantages is its versatility. Because it is non-ablative, it does not burn or strip the skin, significantly lowering the risk of thermal injury often seen in traditional, aggressive laser resurfacing. This makes it an ideal option for:
Patients with darker skin tones who must avoid aggressive heat-based lasers.
Patients battling persistent Melasma who require gentle, non-triggering correction.
Busy professionals seeking "lunch-break" aesthetic improvements with minimal redness.
MOXI FAQs
-
Sciton Moxi utilizes a 1927nm non-ablative fractionated laser wavelength to deliver precise micro-coagulation zones into the upper layers of the epidermis. This triggers the body’s natural dermal repair mechanism, accelerating cell turnover to replace damaged, hyper-pigmented cells with fresh, healthy tissue. Because the fractional path leaves the overall skin barrier intact, it delivers radical tonal and textural renewal without the intense peeling or recovery times of traditional ablative lasers.
-
Moxi is engineered as an exceptionally comfortable, gentle laser resurfacing option. Most patients describe the sensation as a light, warm prickling or tingling feeling across the skin. At our doctor-led Nottingham clinic, we apply a prescription-strength topical numbing cream prior to your session, ensuring the procedure is completely comfortable and easily tolerated from start to finish.
-
On day one post-treatment, your skin will appear flushed and develop tiny, pinpoint textured dots known as MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) where the laser was applied. Between days 3 and 5, these micro-dots will safely and subtly slough off—feeling like rough sandpaper before revealing noticeably brighter, smoother, and more luminous skin underneath. Corrective pigment clearance continues to improve cumulatively over subsequent weeks.
-
Because this is a non-ablative fractionated laser, the post care regimen is simple. Wear a dedicated sunscreen and stay out of the sun. You may wear makeup 24 hours after your treatment.
-
This will depend on your treatment goals and level of damage. Most patients receive 3 corrective treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. Our laser therapists will recommend a personalised plan to maintain your best results.
-
Yes, Sciton Moxi is uniquely designed to be safely performed on all skin types and tones (Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI), all year round. Unlike aggressive ablative resurfacing lasers that generate high thermal signatures capable of triggering post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) or worsening Melasma, Moxi’s non-ablative fractional energy delivers highly controlled micro-treatments. This makes it one of the absolute safest gold-standard device options for breaking up complex dermal patches of Melasma on deeper skin tones.

Combining BBL HEROic and Sciton Moxi creates an elite, comprehensive skin health strategy known globally as a "Moxi-BBL combo." While BBL HEROic targets surface-level color anomalies—destroying diffuse facial redness, rosacea networks, vascular flushing, and sunspots—the Moxi laser simultaneously addresses skin texture, minimising enlarged pores, smoothing fine lines, and lifting deeper pigment. Together, they address multiple structural skin layers in a single session for accelerated, natural-looking rejuvenation.
