Skin Boosters

While both therapies are formulated from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), they are engineered to interact with your tissue architecture in completely opposite ways. Traditional dermal fillers utilise heavily cross-linked, dense HA molecules designed to stay mechanically bound in a concentrated zone. This allows them to create artificial projection, sculpt bone structures, or fill deep skeletal hollows.

Skin boosters, conversely, use non-cross-linked or minimally cross-linked, highly fluid HA. Instead of altering your facial shape or freezing muscle movement, they diffuse evenly across the sub-dermal layers. They act as an intensive internal micro-injection system, saturating the extracellular matrix with moisture to reverse crepey texture, refine pores, and restore a youthful tissue "snap".

Skinboosters are micro-injected just beneath the skin’s surface in our Nottingham Skin Clinic. They bind water molecules, creating a long-lasting moisture reservoir. This hydrates from within while supporting collagen and elastin production over time. The result is smoother, more radiant skin.

Rebuilding your skin’s internal biological framework is a progressive process rather than a temporary surface fix. To trigger true neocollagenesis (the creation of fresh collagen fibers), a foundational course of 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, is clinically mandatory.

While you will experience a visible improvement in dermal hydration and radiance within the first week due to the immediate water-binding nature of HA, your ultimate skin-tightening and texture-smoothing results take 4 to 8 weeks to fully mature. This is the exact window your native fibroblasts require to synthesise a fresh matrix of Type I collagen and elastin networks.

Social downtime is exceptionally minimal, typically lasting between 24 to 48 hours. Because skin boosters are micro-injected into the upper layers of the dermis, it is entirely normal to see small, raised papules or bumps at the injection sites immediately following your session. These look similar to minor insect bites and represent concentrated fluid depots. You must not press or massage these bumps; they will naturally flatten out and self-diffuse uniformly into the surrounding skin within 1 to 2 days. Minor localized swelling or pin-prick bruising may occur but can be easily concealed with clean mineral makeup after 24 hours.

Following your complete foundational treatment course, the structural improvements in your skin quality, bounce, and overall clarity will last beautifully for 6 to 9 months. Because Hyaluronic Acid is a natural molecule, it will eventually be safely metabolised by your body’s regular enzymatic pathways.
