SkinPen® is completely safe and effective for all skin tones (Fitzpatrick types I through VI) because it leaves the protective epidermal barrier intact and does not introduce thermal (heat) energy, which means there is zero risk of heat-induced post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). However, we cannot perform microneedling directly over active, inflamed, pustular acne breakouts to prevent spreading bacteria. We will safely work around isolated spots or recommend alternative barrier-calming treatments first.

For the first 24 hours post-treatment, the micro-channels remain open. You must only apply the clean, sterile hydration vectors provided by our clinic (Skinfuse® Lift HG). You must completely avoid touching your face, applying makeup, using active skincare ingredients (Retinol, Vitamin C, AHAs/BHAs), heavy sweating, saunas, and direct sun exposure. After 24 hours, you can return to a gentle cleanser, a broad-spectrum SPF 50, and mineral makeup.

The structural improvements achieved with SkinPen® are incredibly long-lasting because they rely on the production of your own authentic, living tissue. When treating atrophic acne scars or surgical scars, the structural improvements are permanent unless new acne breakouts occur.
