Dermal Fillers in Nottingham: Targeted Facial Sculpting
Are you looking to restore crisp definition to your jawline, smooth away tired under-eye hollows, or subtly enhance the volume of your lips? Welcome to non-surgical structural rejuvenation.
Dermal fillers are exceptionally versatile, medical-grade tools designed to replace lost volume, correct asymmetrical contours, and reverse the deep structural sagging that occurs as we age. Operating from our doctor-led Mapperley medical clinic, we reject generic, over-filled treatments. Instead, we use highly precise anatomical mapping to deliver targeted dermal filler treatments tailored to your specific areas of concern.
The Precision Treatment Menu: Structural Zones Explained
Achieving a flawless, natural-looking result relies entirely on product rheology—matching the specific thickness, flexibility, and lifting power of the hyaluronic acid gel to the unique anatomy of each facial zone. Below are the specialised dermal filler treatments available at our Nottingham clinic:
-
The Indication: Thinning lips, asymmetrical borders, or vertical "smoker's lines" around the mouth.
The Clinical Approach: The lips are highly dynamic, moving constantly when you speak, eat, and smile. For this zone, we select exceptionally soft, cohesive, and flexible filler gels. These integrate seamlessly within the delicate lip muscle layer, adding natural hydration, crisp borders, and soft volume without creating structural stiffness or lumpiness.
-
The Indication: Flattened cheeks, sagging mid-face tissue, and worsening nose-to-mouth folds.
The Clinical Approach: As the deep cheek fat pads atrophy over time, the overlying skin cascades downward. By placing a high-density, firm filler gel deep on the zygomatic bone (cheekbone), we mimic missing skeletal structure. This physically lifts descended tissues, beautifully contours the mid-face, and subtly smooths the lower face without adding superficial puffiness.
-
The Indication: Sunken, dark, or tired-looking hollows directly beneath the eyes.
The Clinical Approach: This is a highly advanced treatment zone requiring elite medical expertise. We place an ultra-light, minimally hydrophilic (low water-binding) filler gel beneath the eye muscle using a blunt-tipped micro-cannula. This safely smooths the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek, erasing the shadow of exhaustion without causing under-eye swelling or water retention.
-
The Indication: Soft jowls, a weak or recessed profile, and a loss of lower-face definition.
The Clinical Approach: To sharpen a sagging jawline or project a recessed chin, we utilise our firmest, highest lifting capacity (High G-Prime) dermal fillers. Injected deep on the mandible (jawbone), these fillers act as a solid structural scaffolding, creating clean, razor-sharp jaw angles and a balanced profile that tightens the skin along the upper neck.
-
The Indication: Deep creases running from the nose to the corners of the mouth, or lines casting downward down to the chin (sad mouth expression).
The Clinical Approach: Rather than simply packing filler directly into the surface wrinkle—which can make the mouth area look heavy—we combine subtle structural lifting in the cheeks with a highly flexible filler blend directly beneath the creases. This softens severe shadows while ensuring complete facial mobility when you smile.
Dermal filler FAQs
-
An unnatural or pillow-like appearance is never the fault of the product; it is the direct result of incorrect placement, over-treating, or selecting the wrong product rheology (gell thickness and elasticity).
At our doctor-led clinic, we use a highly precise anatomical approach. We select different filler expressions depending on the target tissue zone. For example, we use high-G-prime (firm, structurally supportive) fillers deep on the bone to sculpt chins and jawlines, while reserving highly fluid, cohesive gels for superficial dynamic areas like the lips or tear troughs. This ensures the gel integrates perfectly with your natural facial movements.
-
Procedural discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum. We utilise premium medical-grade dermal fillers that are pre-blended with 0.3% lidocaine (a fast-acting local anaesthetic) to instantly numb the local tissue internally as the treatment unfolds. For delicate areas like the lips, we also apply a high-strength topical numbing cream beforehand.
Furthermore, we routinely use blunt-tipped micro-cannulas instead of sharp needles in high-risk zones. Cannulas smoothly slide through the deep tissue layers rather than piercing blood vessels, which dramatically minimises bruising, lowers swelling, and maximises structural safety.
-
One of the most reassuring properties of hyaluronic acid fillers is that they are 100% chemically reversible. If a patient wishes to adjust a result, or in the exceptionally rare event of a vascular occlusion (where filler inadvertently compresses a blood vessel), we maintain full medical protocols to dissolve the gel instantly.
We inject Hyaluronidase, a specialised clinical enzyme that instantly cleaves the cross-linked bonds of the filler gel, safely breaking it down into liquid components that your lymphatic system naturally excretes within hours.
-
The longevity of your results depends heavily on the anatomical placement site, the thickness of the gel used, and your personal metabolic rate. In dynamic, high-movement zones like the lips, fillers typically break down within 6 to 9 months. In static, deep structural areas like the cheeks, jawline, or chin, high-density gels can maintain their structural projection for 12 to 18 months.
Your body naturally degrades the gel slowly and safely over time via endogenous enzymatic metabolism. To keep your contours perfectly crisp and supported, most patients schedule a maintenance review once a year.

Most patients describe the sensation of Forever Bare BBL as a warm, comfortable massage rather than the painful "snapping rubber band" feeling associated with traditional lasers. Because the hand piece features an integrated thermoelectric cooling plate, your skin is kept constantly chilled. This allows us to target thick, coarse hair effectively while keeping the surface of your skin completely comfortable throughout the session.
-
You will notice a visible reduction in hair density and slower growth after your very first session. However, because hair grows in asynchronous cycles (anagen, catagen, and telogen), the treatment can only destroy follicles actively growing hair during your appointment. To achieve permanent hair reduction across the entire target area, we recommend a complete course of 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
-
To ensure a safe and effective session, you must cleanly shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment—do not wax, pluck, or thread, as the root must remain intact for the BBL energy to target. Additionally, avoid direct sun exposure, sun beds, and fake tan on the treated area for at least 2 weeks prior to your visit. Always notify our team if you have started any new photosensitising medications since your initial consultation.
